An attractive antique Chinese style hu-form bronze vase with a warm gilt/brass surface, decorated throughout with archaistic motifs including raised taotie-style masks, scrolling geometric borders, shield-form panels, and patterned bands around the shoulder and neck. The vessel features a flared rim, rounded bulbous body, pedestal foot, and opposing beast-form handles with expressive facial details. The surface shows age-related patina, rubbing to the gilded finish, oxidation, darkened recesses, and interior wear consistent with display and handling. Includes a fitted carved hardwood stand with visible age cracks and wear. A decorative and visually striking piece suitable for collectors of Asian antiques, bronze vessels, and Chinoiserie decorative arts. Approx. dimensions (in): 14 x 9 x 9.
