A striking and authentic antique brass acetylene lamp by Dietz, featuring multiple patent dates including Jan. 26, 1897, Nov. 25, 1908, and Oct. 8, 1908, indicative of early innovation in portable lighting. This beautifully constructed piece retains its original solid brass body with a rich, aged patina, complemented by a thick glass front lens and intact internal burner assembly. The form is classic of late 19th to early 20th century bicycle or carriage lamps, with a rear mounting bracket, side fuel chamber, and domed vented top. The “DIETZ” stamp is clearly present on the body, along with additional patent markings on the base and fittings, adding to its authenticity and collector appeal. Condition shows expected wear from age and use, including surface marks, oxidation, and minor spotting, but remains structurally sound and highly displayable. A desirable example for collectors of early lighting, transportation antiques, or industrial design. Approx. dimensions (in): 13.5 x 6.5 x 8.
