Finely modeled Capodimonte hand-painted porcelain figure depicting an elderly philosopher or scholar seated before an open book in deep contemplation, holding a quill while resting his head in thought. The sculpture features exceptional attention to detail in the expressive facial features, flowing beard, richly colored green cloak, purple patterned sleeves, and ornate gilt-accented base. The underside bears the blue Capodimonte "Hand Made in Italy" mark, and the base is incised "C. Aru." Please note there is damage to the quill held in the scholar's hand, as shown in the photographs. A finely executed Italian porcelain decorative figure that displays beautifully and is a desirable addition to any Capodimonte collection. It has couple of chips.
