Both pieces show heavy age, surface wear, paint loss, oxidation, soot, dust, and patina throughout, giving them strong rustic and industrial display appeal. The Dietz lantern retains its bail handle, vented top, red painted metal body, and red globe, while the Elgin lantern features its tall wire frame, fuel base marked “ELGIN,” clear globe, and weathered orange finish.
