Early 20th century French “Le Taxiphote” stereoscopic slide viewer and automatic storage cabinet by Richard Frères, Paris, serial number 11772. Housed in a substantial fitted wood case, the instrument features twin viewing lenses, manual controls, internal mechanical components, a rear viewing screen, and a lower cabinet with three drawers containing numerous glass stereoview plates in fitted holders. Retains its original brass operating plaques, Richard Frères markings, paper instructions, plate gauge, and a dealer plaque for Pablo Ferrando of Montevideo. The cabinet and components show age-related wear, surface marks, and losses consistent with use; operation has not been tested. Approx. dimensions (in): 19.5 x 11 x 11.
