Offered here is a striking early canvas-over-frame Canada goose decoy, showing a classic long-bodied form with a curved neck, applied tail form, and old cord rigging around the neck. The decoy retains a wonderful dry, aged surface with black, cream, tan, and gray painted feathering over a textured canvas skin, with honest wear, staining, scuffs, small losses, and expected surface abrasions from age and field use. The underside shows the stretched canvas construction clearly, along with an old metal tag or button near the tether point. Its sculptural profile, weathered working surface, and untouched folk-art character make it a strong decorative sporting collectible, ideal for collectors of early waterfowl decoys, hunting lodge décor, or American folk art. Approx. dimensions (in): 9.5 x 26.25 x 9.
