Oil on canvas by Frederick Richard Lee (1798–1879), depicting a dramatic Scottish Highland landscape with a rushing rocky river flowing through dense woodland, distant mountains and cliffs, and a solitary figure in red along the riverbank beneath an expansive cloud-filled sky. Signed “Fred R. Lee, R.A.” at the lower left and presented in an elaborate carved giltwood frame with scrolling foliate and floral ornament.
