Signed “Marinsky” and numbered 4/10 near the base of the sculpture. The marble base has visible cracking and edge losses. Approx. dimensions (in): 9.75 x 10.25 x 7.5.  Harry Marinsky (1909–2008) was an English-born American sculptor, painter, illustrator, and designer. Born in London to Russian émigré parents, he studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and Pratt Institute and began his career as a successful commercial illustrator and art editor. He later became best known for his expressive, often whimsical figurative bronze sculptures. In 1972, Marinsky settled near Pietrasanta, Italy, where he produced many of his bronzes at the renowned Tommasi Foundry. His work was exhibited widely in the United States and Europe, including at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Museum of Modern Art, and examples of his work are held in museum and private collections.
