A framed Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print by Toyohara Kunichika (1835–1900), dated 1867, depicting the kabuki actor Otani Tomoemon V in the role of the evil warrior priest Yokawa Kakuhan. Rich blues, blacks, reds, and pale flesh tones emphasize the theatrical intensity of the composition, with publisher and censor-style markings visible along the right margin. The reverse bears a handwritten notation reading “Kunichika (1835–1900) Actor 1867.” Presented under matting in a black frame, with visible age toning, minor spotting, and handling wear consistent with age; not examined outside the frame. A striking 19th-century Japanese theater print appealing to collectors of ukiyo-e, kabuki imagery, and works on paper. Approx. frame size (in): 19.5 x 14.25 x 0.75, Approx. painting size (in): 14 x 9.5.
