The album and accompanying papers document the construction and operation of pipeline infrastructure along the Ledo Road and Burma Road, with images of Kunming, Tsuyung, stations 70 and 73, airfields, aircraft, vehicles, helicopters, local scenes, servicemen, camps, road work, pumping stations, and CBI landscapes. Also included are hand-drawn maps showing India, Burma, China, the Ledo/Burma Road route, passes, pipeline stations, and operational notations, along with a typed history of the 780 Engineer Petroleum Distribution Company and later correspondence discussing the “World’s Longest Pipeline” article. A 2008 Veterans of Foreign Wars certificate to Mr. Robert Foppiano is included, tying the archive to a named veteran/family provenance.
