Striking Mexican folk art bird sculpture by A. Blasquez, constructed from layered, hand-cut metal strips with a dramatic feathered and scaled surface. The piece features a silvery mixed-metal body with gold-toned accents to the beak, crest, and chest, black bead-like eyes, and intricate overlapping metalwork that gives it wonderful texture and movement from every angle. The hollow interior retains its original paper label reading “A. Blasquez” and “Made in Mexico.” A highly decorative and unusual folk art bird, showing age-appropriate surface wear, oxidation, small bends, and patina consistent with handmade construction and display. Approx. dimensions (in): 6.25 x 5 x 5.5.
