Agathon Léonard, also known as Léonard Agathon van Weydevelt (1841 Lille–1923 Paris), Egyptian Revival figural dancer sculpture depicting a female figure posed en pointe with arms raised overhead, wearing an elaborate headdress, jewelry, and detailed costume. The figure has a metallic patinated finish and is mounted on a black rectangular base, with the artist name A. Leonard visible on the plinth. The sculpture shows surface wear, rubbing, dust, scuffs, and small chips/losses to the base, with areas of age-related finish wear throughout. A striking decorative Art Nouveau / Art Deco era style figure with strong Egyptian-inspired design and elegant vertical form. Approx. dimensions (in): 18.75 x 4.5 x 4.5.
