A fine antique English verge fusee pocket watch dating to the late 18th or early 19th century, featuring a classic white enamel dial with Roman numerals and a subsidiary seconds register. The watch retains its elegant blued steel hands and displays a beautifully aged patina consistent with its age, adding to its authentic character. Housed in a silver-toned case with visible wear and period engraving, the interior reveals an exceptionally decorative gilt movement intricately engraved with floral and scrollwork motifs, showcasing the craftsmanship of early horology. The movement is further enhanced by pierced and engraved balance cock details and deep blue screws. The inner case bears a maker’s mark and serial number, though partially worn, suggesting English origin. This timepiece is a wonderful example of early mechanical watchmaking and would make a compelling addition to any antique watch collection or display. Condition is consistent with age, with surface wear, dial spotting, and unknown running status. Approx. diameter (in): 2.25.
