The upper shoulder is decorated with bold brushed cobalt swags beneath a raised banded rim, giving the piece a classic 19th-century utilitarian American stoneware appearance. The surface shows attractive age-related crazing, kiln speckling, glaze variation, and honest wear throughout. The interior and underside display staining and use consistent with age, and there is a visible vertical hairline/crack extending from the lower body toward the base, with additional wear and small surface imperfections as shown.
