A handsome antique salt-glazed stoneware jug featuring a rounded ovoid body, short rolled rim, and applied loop handle, decorated with freehand cobalt blue floral or foliate motifs around the shoulder and neck. The surface shows a warm beige-gray glaze with attractive orange-peel texture, age crazing, kiln marks, and expected wear consistent with early utilitarian stoneware. There is a chip to the rim of the jug. The base is unglazed and darkened from age and use. There are visible rim chips/losses and scattered surface imperfections, adding to its authentic rustic character. A decorative and collectible piece of American or European stoneware, ideal for display in a country, farmhouse, or folk-art collection. Approx. dimensions (in): 13 x 7.5 x 7.5.
