An autograph letter signed “M. Van Buren,” one page, dated May 2, 1833, in which the future eighth president writes to Secretary of the Navy Levi Woodbury regarding an enclosed matter and asks that it be sent to the person best able to provide a solution. The folded letter retains its integral address panel with postal markings and remnants of the original wax seal. Accompanied by a Signature House reference sheet and a 1987 commemorative Martin Van Buren inauguration cover.
