A framed Japanese woodblock print attributed to Toyohara Kunichika (1835–1900), depicting a kabuki actor, likely Ichikawa Kyūzō, in a dramatic pose holding a traditional Japanese lantern. Rendered in vivid blues, black, cream, and red accents, the composition features bold actor portraiture with Japanese character cartouches and seals in the image. The reverse is inscribed “Kunichika (1835–1900) Actor 1865.” Presented under matting in a black frame, the print shows age-appropriate toning, minor surface wear, and small edge imperfections visible in the photographs. A striking 19th-century kabuki theater print with strong color and decorative presence, suitable for collectors of Japanese ukiyo-e, actor portraits, and Meiji-period works on paper. Approx. frame size (in): 19.75 x 14.25 x 0.75, Approx. painting size (in): 13.75 x 9.25.
