A framed Japanese woodblock print by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (1839–1892), titled “Fujiwara no Kintō Carries Plum Blossoms on His Fan,” from the celebrated series One Hundred Aspects of the Moon (Tsuki hyakushi), published circa 1887. The composition depicts the 11th-century poet and courtier Fujiwara no Kintō walking through a snow-covered palace garden at night, holding plum blossoms gathered on his fan. Yoshitoshi’s refined linework and atmospheric use of winter scenery capture both the elegance of Heian court culture and the poetic mood for which the series is admired. The print is presented matted and framed behind Tru Vue museum glass, with labels on the reverse noting the subject, series, engraver Enkatsu, date, and prior framing details. A finely composed example from one of Yoshitoshi’s most famous late-career series, appealing to collectors of Japanese prints, Meiji-period art, and literary moon-themed imagery. Approx. frame size (in): 19.75 x 14.25 x 0.75, Approx. painting size (in): 12.75 x 8.5.
