The scene depicts the courtesan Akoya seated in richly patterned robes, turning toward her attendant, who is shown playing a koto at left. The composition references a poem by Fujiwara no Toshiyuki Ason and features calligraphic poem panels above, publisher and series marks, and Hiroshige’s signature at lower right. Presented matted in a black frame, with visible age toning, fading, scattered spotting, and wear consistent with antique paper. A fine decorative example of Japanese ukiyo-e printmaking, appealing to collectors of Hiroshige, Edo-period woodblock prints, and classical literary subjects.
